Celebrations as Children of Liberty ladies graduate

by Halcyon Martin

Four of our amazing COL ladies have passed their state diploma and started income generation activities.

Today we celebrate with 4 of our Children of Liberty ladies who, even in this very difficult year when schools have been closed, have managed to pass their state diploma and are now embarking on income generation activities.

2020, as we are all aware, was a very difficult year because of the covid-19 pandemic. In D.R.Congo this has meant that churches, schools and other activities have all been put on hold. “But,” as Bedadi, the monitor for the Children of Liberty project, says,  “God remains faithful”.  He goes on to say, “Some of the young people on our project, thanks to their hard work got their diploma of state and are now looking to undertake some activities after their studies”.

Adrocela, Solange, Esther and Alice are now moving into various activities which they hope will help to make them self-sufficient. Adrocela will be selling shoes, Solange and Alice are learning to sew and will become tailors and Esther is looking forward to a business selling Airtel Mobil andMoney Mobil transfer. We look forward to hearing how they get on.

Well done ladies!

The Children of Liberty project aims to restore hope, dignity, education and a future to young men and women who have at some time been child soldiers. We are so pleased to have been able to help many of these young people become self-sufficient and responsible members of society. We know that the love of Jesus and the support from sponsors and project leaders has made this possible. We don’t underestimate the power of the love of God to transform lives.
