This June, our dear partners at Comfort International Brazil (CIB) celebrated 7 years as an organisation. We would like to warmly congratulate them on all they have achieved and continue to do to support the work of the partners of Comfort International.
CIB was initially birthed when Pedro Alvim and photographer Camila Muradas travelled to Rwanda and D. R. Congo in 2013 for the first time. On returning to Brazil the incredible photos and stories collected on the trip were used to present the charity and its projects to friends and churches and the first 9 sponsors began supporting projects.
In 2015 CIB formed a team and became a recognised organisation. The following year the first CIB team (Pedro, Sara, Mirlane and Ana Maria) travelled to Rwanda and D. R. Congo to personally meet the people and projects they were supporting. Whilst they expected to be going to help those they met, they found that it was in fact their own lives that were being transformed, as so many of us have experienced.
Since then, CIB has continued to grow and to accomplish so much. Through a partnership with Brazilian design company Agencia Selva, Comfort International rebranded and got a whole new look which is in use in everything we do today. Volunteer Daniel Gomez visited Scotland in 2018 to help build and present a system which banked information on the projects of the charity in various countries across the world. And that same year a team of Brazilians, including doctors, dentists and physios travelled to Brazil and completed a fantastic time of treatment and training at the hospital in Rusayo.
Today Comfort International Brazil is a team of over 10 volunteers and more than 50 sponsors who are making a tangible difference in the lives of real people living in poverty in Africa. The team are talented and dedicated and we have been blessed with incredible generosity and support from the people in Brazil. We thank you greatly for your ministry and look forward to the next 7 years and more! Muito obrigado a todos vocês e que Deus os abençoe abundantemente.
