FoundationMakers provide vital support to all that Comfort International seeks to achieve in improving the lives of
individuals and communities which have struggled with extreme poverty, conflict and trauma.
FoundationMakers donate to the work of Comfort International on a regular basis, but not a specific project, partner or country. This allows us to build unrestricted income that can be used flexibly where there are gaps in sponsorship; crises arising; new projects developing or for other demands requiring financial agility.
FoundationMakers:
- Give hope for a better future.
- Secure the future of established projects.
- Provide resources to start new projects.
- Create flexibility to meet needs in the event of a crisis.
- Receive newsletters and regular updates from Comfort International to keep you well informed.
Judith was born in 2002, her father died and her
mother lost both her legs in the war. At the age of
14 she turned to prostitution to support herself. At
the age of 16 she was forcibly raped by 2 men and
became pregnant, giving birth to a boy at the age of 17.
FoundationMakers were able to support Judith through Comfort Babies Congo so that she no longer needs to support herself & her baby through prostitution and is looking forward to her
boy growing up in better circumstances.
FoundationMaker funds continue to be absolutely crucial for maintaining the functioning of the Central Hospital of Rusayu (CHR), covering unsponsored salaries, medication, ambulance maintenance and new facilities.
“The hospital is functioning day and night to help vulnerable people from the Rusayu area and others who have come in to the city who have no means to pay hospital fees. At the hospital they can receive treatment free of charge along with other people from the area. Pregnant women are giving birth with their new-borns in good condition and raped woman are being well treated.” – Bedadi, Comfort Congo
